Balanced

Balance shows a certain level of control over your life that not everyone has. A balanced individual displays a balance in different aspects of their life. For example, a balanced diet means that you are eating an assortment of nutritious foods. These foods don't necessarily need to be healthy, but they do assure that your are keeping an active watch over your food. The idea however, is that they bring a nutritious value to you.
A balanced social life on the other hand, implies that you are controlling yourself in order to do the best academically. In order to do this you should be focused on your time. You have an eight hour school day, but should also get around eight hours of sleep to maintain a healthy body. You also should plan out your day so that you are able to socialize for a few hours with your friends, but also do your homework. A way that I would suggest doing this, is by doing homework with your friends.
The life of a student athlete

Being balanced all around takes a lot of hard work and pertinent dedication. My day consists of an early start, a long middle, and a late finish. Since the first day of high school, I have woken up bright and early at four forty five in the morning. I then get dressed and eat breakfast to catch my five thirty bus. I then wait on the bus stop for another half hour, no matter what the temperature may be. This stop allows me to catch my next bus all the way to school which starts at seven thirty. I then trudge through school like every other child in Wisconsin. After this, depending on the season I will spend two hours at a football practice, wrestling practice, or in the gym. All sweaty and tattered, I take my two hour bus ride back home. Occasionally, I have non-school related activities that I attend to. Things such as college programs and volunteering also come into play. As mentioned, the life of a student athlete, is not easy, but by successfully doing this, I can say that I have put myself in a much better situation than I was at when I started school. Balancing all of this has allowed me to open doors for myself that I could of once only dreamed of. I am definitely proud to say that I will be going to college for engineering.
