Knowledgable
It is often said that knowledge is power. Knowledgeable people are referred to as “wise beyond their years”, And this title is notably suitable. Knowledge is the act of reflecting, learning, and above all; knowing. Knowledgeable people gain their knowledge from different places, and this is remarkably what gives many knowledgeable people their stories. Gaining of knowledge changes the average man's story, because it requires them to struggle in order to gain the knowledge. There are two ways to gain knowledge: from sources, or from experiences. Yes, you can gain knowledge from books, but it comes from taking the time to actually soak in and retain the information given.
I have gained most of my knowledge from “what I would deem to be” a remarkable story. I was born a twin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin -one of the nations failing cities- to a schizophrenic mother. She suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and depression, and because of this she simply wasn’t suitable to have children. She was homeless for the first few years of my life which forced us to stay in homeless shelters, and rescue missions at night. My father was abusive to my mother, so naturally my mother left him while she was pregnant with us. This fraction of my story had taught me so much as it is. I learned independence, resourcefulness, and caution. Starting my life at one of the lowest possible positions you can have, I was raised thinking that it was normal to have nothing. I didn’t have a need to complain because I had nothing I found enough to complain about. Carrying on from this story, my brother and I were eventually put into foster care, where I learned about wealth. We were moved out to the suburbs, and I was able to see just how education could bring me money, and how money could take me to my dreams. After 4 years in foster care my brother and I were put in a group home. Reflecting back on my past, I wouldn’t change anything. It is beneficial to have struggle, because without struggle, you can’t grow. The knowledge I’ve gained will take me far in my future, and will give me a wild story to tell my children.
